Description
We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 2000, AA grade Plus top, Trans Red color classic!
This “Plus” model has an AA grade maple top. The back is one-piece mahogany with a wonderful wood grain. The neck is also mahogany with a slim taper, a characteristic of the “Classic” model. The PU is mounted with “496R & 500T” which is standard on the “Classic” model. Both have ceramic magnets, and the thin neck gives the guitar a powerful yet edgy feel. Also released as a vintage type at the time, it has attracted fans of yesteryear with its Cruson-type pegs and ABR-1 bridge. It was shipped without a pickguard to not hide the great top.
The body has wipe scratches, scuffs, line scratches, dents, and head edge crack repair marks. The top of the body is dotted with large and small dents, and there are numerous scratches and line marks around the perimeter, mainly on the lower part of the body. The clear paint on the binding at the end of the body is peeling off. There are also large and small dents mainly on the lower part of the body side, and the binding inside the cutaway has minor cracks due to aging. There are weather checks on the upper left and lower right parts of the body back, which is kind of cool. There is a thin sticker mark on the upper part of the body back (approx. 9.5 cm x 6 cm), and there is a concentration of dents on the right neck area. There are many large and small dents, scratches, and line scratches on the entire body back. The back of the neck has a burn mark and a scratch on the 10th floor, and the paint is peeling off in a size the size of a grain of rice. In addition, there are small dents and fingernail marks scattered throughout. The upper right section of the back of the head has a chip in the wood from being hit too hard, and a 3cm crack has been repaired on the back and side of the head. There are some paint gaps around the periphery of the head top due to aging, which is common throughout. There are finger marks mainly on the low position of the fingerboard surface. There are cracks on the inside of each knob, but there are no problems with use. Each hardware has some signs of use, deterioration, and scratches, but there are no problems with operation.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen. There are no string marks on the frets and about 80% of the frets are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.
Overall, there are some signs of use, but it looks cool with a wild Les Paul-like feel! There is a “TR” notation on the front PU cavity, which can be identified as “Trans Red”. There are no “Plus” or “Premium Plus” markings, but we judge it to be a Plus grade from the lack of pickguard mounting holes and its top. The Les Paul Classic was more popular than the Standard at the time. Nowadays, the classic Les Paul is highly regarded as a vintage reissue style. The body back is made of 1pcs mahogany, which is not to be missed! Recommended one!
